Get to Know Us
The Angel's Animals Holistic Seminars (Angel's Animals, LLC) were developed by Dr. Angelique Barbara in 2009 and have been offered online since 2015. Our courses were the first online courses of its kind and paved the way for other online educational programs. We have thousands of students and practitioners in over 30 countries. The majority of our certified practitioners decide to enroll in additional courses with us for their continuing education because they are very satisfied with the course layout and support they receive along the way. Continuing Education (CE) credits are offered through The National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, The International Veterinary Chiropractic Association, the International Association of Animal Massage and Bodywork/Association of Canine Water Therapy and other animal massage organizations. These courses provide state of the art learning techniques with quality, up to date information, making them one of the highest quality online animal bodywork courses available.
Our Team.
Dr. Angelique Barbara (Dr. Angel) is the founder of Holistic Animal Studies. With a deep passion for animal wellness and education, Dr. Angel created the program to provide accessible, high-quality training in holistic animal care for professionals, aspiring practitioners, and dedicated pet owners around the world.
Mary serves as our Program Administrator, helping ensure that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. From assisting students to coordinating program logistics, Mary plays an essential role in supporting both our team and our learners.
Our Teaching Assistants, Liza and Liz, work closely with students throughout their learning journey. They provide guidance, feedback on assignments, and ongoing support to help students succeed in their coursework and professional development.
In addition to our core team, we collaborate with a growing network of course contributors and subject matter experts. Our course collaborators are highly knowledgeable professionals from a variety of disciplines within the animal wellness field. Their expertise allows us to continuously expand and enhance our course offerings while ensuring that our students receive the most current and comprehensive education available.

Where are you located?
The founder and instructor, Dr. Angelique Barbara, is located in Florida, USA, however we have students, practitioners, staff and instructors all over the world.
Are these courses available to international students?
Yes, our courses can be completed from any location and are approved in most countries. Massage laws do vary from region to region though so you should check your local laws before practicing.
What currency are your prices in?
Our prices are all in United States Dollars (USD). If you are located outside of the USA, your credit card or PayPal account will automatically convert the price into your currency based on the conversion rate at the time of enrollment.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, we do. Click here to view all of our payment options. If you have a coupon code, you can enter it at checkout when enrolling in a payment plan and it will provide you with a discount on each payment.
How do the payment plans work?
When you enroll in a payment plan, the first payment is made at the time of enrollment. Following payments are automatically charged to your card every 30 days until the course is paid in full. For example, if you enrolled on May 24th, your next payment would be charged on June 24th. A portion of the course material is made available to you with each monthly payment. If you enrolled in a 4 month payment plan, it would take you 4 months to have access to all the course material. The system is not set up to take early payments.
How long will I have access to the course material after completing a course?
Forever. You can log back in any point after completing a course to review the material. The courses are updated periodically, so you should definitely check back to see if there is new material.
Who will answer questions I have and how long does it take to receive an answer?
Dr. Angel along with her several highly qualified teaching assistants and co-instructors are available to provide guidance to students. Mary Detloff (located in Colorado, USA) is available to answer any questions regarding billing, enrollment, certificate shipping, our referral program and other trouble shooting. Normally emails are answered within 24 hours. If you do not see a response please check in with us because your email may have ended up in our spam folder or our response may have ended up in yours.
Am I able to interact with other students and practitioners?
Yes, once you enroll, you will receive an invitation to our FB group where you can interact with other students and those who have already completed the course. This is a great community where you can post questions, gain advice and share cases. We also have a community in thinkific (our course host) where students can interact.
Do you accept Federal Student Loans or Grants?
No, since we offer certifications rather than degrees, our courses are not eligible for federal funding or grants.
Is animal massage legal in my state?
If you are in the United States, you can check this website for a list of state regulations. If you are outside of the United States, it is recommended to check with your local Veterinary Board before practicing.
Do you offer refunds on courses?
Our policy is that we do not offer refunds on online courses since the material can be downloaded. We do however, offer free trials so you can test out the course before committing to it. You are also able to enroll in a payment plan and can cancel that plan early if you decide not to move forward with the course. If you are not happy with your course for some reason, please contact Dr. Angel. Your happiness is important to us and we will do everything possible to rectify any problems.
How are you able to teach these techniques through an online format?
Dr. Angel has structured the courses in a way that facilitates learning. Even though these courses are online, they are very hands on with practice time and demonstrative videos for you to follow. Your techniques are assessed through video submissions and case studies. The majority of our students do extremely well and are able to successfully and effectively perform the techniques. For those who need additional guidance, we do offer optional hands on workshops in several locations and free zoom meetings with our instructors. Dr. Angel was the first person to put these types of courses online in 2015 and thousands of students all over the world have successfully completed them.
How are students graded and what happens if I fail an exam or assignment?
Students are graded based on video submissions, case studies and online exams. All assignments and exams can be repeated as many times as needed to receive a passing grade. Everyone will successfully complete their certification if they are willing to put the time into it.
Are there specific start dates for the courses and how long do I have to finish the course?
No, our courses can be started at any time and you will have access to them immediately after enrolling. You will have as long as you need to finish the course! Our courses never expire so you can work at your own pace and will always have access to the course material.
